At Nutty Delights, every day is Earth Day. As Dublin’s first permanent Zero-Waste store in the heart of George’s Street Arcade, sustainability isn't just a buzzword for us, it’s the reason we open our shutters every morning.
We know that "saving the planet" can feel overwhelming. But we are big believers that you don’t need a handful of people doing zero-waste perfectly; you need millions of people doing it imperfectly.
Here is how you can snack smarter and tread lighter this April.
1. The Problem with Crinkly Wrappers
Next time you’re in a supermarket, look at the snack aisle. It is a sea of single-use plastic. Foil-lined crisps bags, plastic-wrapped nut mixes, and styrofoam trays. Most of this ends up in landfill or, worse, our oceans.
The sad reality is that the snack industry is one of the biggest contributors to household waste. But the good news? It’s also one of the easiest habits to fix.
2. The Refill Revolution: Bring Your Own Jar

Pop into our store in George’s Street Arcade with your Tupperware, old jam jars, or cloth bags. We will weigh your container first (tare it), so you only pay for the nuts, dried fruits, or chocolates you fill it with.

One of the best things you can do for the planet is to buy larger quantities less often.
When you buy a 500g or 1kg bag of Walnuts or Dried Mango instead of ten tiny 50g packets, you are significantly reducing the packaging-to-product ratio. You are also reducing the shipping emissions required to get the product to your door. It’s a win for the Earth, and usually a win for your wallet too!
